In case you missed our September and October newsletters which both featured articles about Making Tax Digital (MTD), here's a reminder of how we're preparing for HMRC's new scheme. We're busy working closely with HMRC to put the necessary integration in place to support the MTD programme ahead of the April 2019 deadline. The enhanced Interactive software will give authorised users access to a new MTD digital screen where they'll be able to review VAT liability for the current and past VAT quarters in the familiar nine box format... and more. Read details.
Last year's final Children in Need fundraising total was an impressive £60.7 million and organisers are optimistic about surpassing it next Friday 16th November. We're getting in on the act too. We've got our Children in Need fundraising pack and are planning an impressive range of activities including the Great Quill Bake Off, Mario Kart Tournament, Fabulous Brew Boys, Big Fat Quiz and more.
Meet our very own Darren Jones, software developer for our Interactive Documents Add-Ins, a position he's held for two years. Darren explains what he's currently working on. These are projects which connect our Interactive software more closely with Word and Outlook for better management of case-related documents and correspondence. Darren also describes his greatest achievements to date at Quill, gives advice to prospects considering Interactive Documents and covers much more besides. Read interview here.
The legal profession is never static. To thrive in challenging conditions, law firms rely more than ever before upon technology. One constant thread in this sea of change is the written word. Every single task performed by a solicitor involves the written word in some form. Law firms are document-intensive by nature and every fee earner is a content factory generating document after document as they progress through live matters. It thus follows that the primary role of technology is to help legal practices manage the written word effectively. Read how Interactive Documents allows you to do just that.
Long-range weather forecasts predict freezing temperatures, heavy snow and icy storms beginning as early as November and continuing for four months. For businesses this means one thing: protracted disruption as staff can't journey into the office. It's heartening to know there's an easy way to protect your organisation from weather-induced disaster: outsourcing. That's because, at Quill, our promise is this: we're always in. Choose our outsourced IT, cashiering, payroll and typing solutions. Can you fail to be tempted by 247, 365 cover in the run up to winter?
With Children In Need just around the corner, we're planning our usual bake sale, all-you-can-eat buffet and raffle to raise money for disadvantaged and poorly children. Christmas is only a few weeks away too, so we're holding collections of food, toiletries, toys and gifts on behalf of regional appeals. Finally, we've held another group blood donation session today and our very own Steven Shaw (photographed here) has recently pledged his 25th blood donation over a 9-year period.
