Once monthly at Quill Pinpoint we hold a ‘dress-down Friday’ day where staff come to work casually dressed rather than wearing their usual, formal work clothes.
For the privilege of donning their favourite, comfortable gear, we suggest a £1 contribution to our ongoing charity collection.
With over 80 staff across 4 offices donating cash every month, the money has been steadily mounting up to an impressive grand total of £1,000.
Armed with these funds, our charity committee, Project QP, were accorded the responsibility of distributing to charity. Subsequently, they decided to split the money between a selection of charities chosen by Quill staff.
Julian Bryan, Managing Director at Quill Pinpoint, explains: “We asked employees to nominate charities meaningful to them for one reason or another. After all, they donated the money, so it was important that they were given the chance to request an allocation of funds to a charity close to their hearts.
We wanted to spread the goodwill as far as possible and the finalists vary from animal shelters and children’s charities to medical research and youth groups.
This has been an enjoyable exercise for Project QP members who are, along with the rest of the Quill workforce, now experiencing the feel-good factor after supporting all of these worthwhile local and national causes”.
The full list of charities selected for a share of Project QP’s finances is: Epilepsy Action, Teenage Cancer Trust, Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice Liverpool, KIND, Cash for Kids, Cystic Fibrosis, Manchester & Cheshire Dogs’ Home, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Meningitis Now, Knutsford Rotary Club, ManKind Initiative, NSPCC, Pancreatic Cancer Action, Wigan Youth Zone, Inbetweenears, Friends of Belmont and South Manchester Down's Syndrome Support Group.
