Have you seen our double-page spread in the new issue of Legal Practice Management? In an article titled "Flexible Friends", our MD, Julian Bryan, explores the options for SME legal entities fighting off the competition.
Julian proposes that, in order to move and think as agile businesses, firms can convert fixed office-based costs into completely variable costs which flex up (or down) as the organisation grows (or contracts).
The way to make this shift is to review the in-house cashiering function when triggered by changes such as mergers or staff departures and consider outsourcing instead. Another is to take to the cloud by switching to a software subscription model.
By doing so, firms can support any number of fee earners with very little back-office infrastructure and significantly reduced overheads.
