Charity update: thank yous and forthcoming fundraisers

With a constant flow of incoming dress-down day funds from our casually-dressed-on-Fridays employees, monies are routinely sent to a mix of charities.  It's always nice to receive recognition for your efforts.  That's why we're tickled pink with these just-in thank you notes from our recent charitable beneficiaries, Marie Curie and Beechwood Cancer Care.  Read more and get involved.

Our Brighton office is a warm, friendly bunch looking for proactive, passionate individuals to join its software development team based in the vibrant North Laine area.  Vacancies include Front End Application Developers with strong HMTL5, CSS3, Javascript and Bootstrap skills; Software Developers fluent in C# and .NET with a sound understanding of how the web works from server side to client side; Network Administrator to support, manage and develop its infrastructure.

We've appointed a new Finance Director

We've recruited Chris Hawley as Finance Director based at our Manchester headquarters.  As a Chartered Accountant, having held previous senior finance positions within law firms for the best part of 20 years and trained initially with Ernst & Young, Chris is superbly placed for the financial management role at Quill.

Charity presentation at free lunchtime social event

During a midday social event held on 10th September, we presented a cheque for £7,000 to the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society.  The money was generated from our recent Yorkshire Three Peaks fundraiser.  Read our thank you note from the MS Society and commentary from our MD, Julian Bryan.

Have you seen our double-page spread in the new issue of Legal Practice Management?  In an article titled "Flexible Friends", our MD, Julian Bryan, explores the options for SME legal entities fighting off the competition.  Julian proposes that, in order to move and think as agile businesses, firms can convert fixed office-based costs into completely variable costs.

Dress-down Fridays: casually dressed; serious about fundraising

Since our last charity update, we've held three dress-down Fridays.  June's beneficiary was Marie Curie.  In July, we supported Heart radio station's 'cards for William' campaign and bought cards for poorly William's 6th birthday instead of our usual monetary donation.  Finally, for August we chose Beechwood Cancer CareRead more including commentary from our MD, Julian Bryan.
