Carla Morris wins Peter Dye Award 2022
14/11/22Memorial shield for outstanding service awarded to Carla Morris for 2022
The 2022 winner of our Peter Dye Award is Carla Morris, accounts assistant, who’s based in our Manchester head office.
Tom Wormald, managing director, comments: “We introduced the Peter Dye Award several years ago in memory of one of our founders and former director who sadly passed away. We present the shield annually to a member of staff who goes above and beyond in the line of duty. That’s exactly what Carla demonstrates on a day-to-day basis. She’s always available and always happy, even when she’s having a busy or bad day. There’s no worthier winner of this esteemed accolade.”
Eddie Smith, finance controller and Carla’s manager, says: “Carla joined PTUK at the tender age of 17 covering software and cashiering support, bookkeeping and office management. Joining Quill in 2019, Carla soon found a home in the finance team and has committed herself to her new role ever since.
“She’s the first point of contact for clients with billing queries who can sometimes have difficult questions about their invoices, yet she consistently copes without complaint. By putting clients first, she does occasionally find herself unable to get through all of her daily tasks and has put in many extra hours to ensure clients continue to receive monthly invoices on time and suppliers are paid by their due dates. I’m proud to have Carla in my team.”
Carla states: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have won the Peter Dye Award. I’ve worked in the legal software sector for the whole of my career and I love being at Quill. We really are one big, happy family. Work is a pleasure, never a chore. In saying that, it’s so nice to be recognised for the contribution I make and my hard-working ethos. The £100 Love2Shop voucher will be put to good use too, especially in the run up to Christmas!”
Previous award winners include Maria Ashurst, Lynda Rostron, Karen Heggie and Clare Tuck. Carla joins the prestigious line up of employees to have gone down in Quill history for their exceptional performance in the workplace.
