PTUK is now part of Quill

Quill acquires PTUK to expand its presence in the legal practice management software marketplace

In May 2019, legal software company Professional Technology UK Ltd (PTUK) was acquired by Quill, a major player in the legal practice management software market in the United Kingdom.

Users of PTUK’s Quaestor and Seriatim legal practice management systems are invited to upgrade to Quill’s cloud-based software platform and are being supported fully throughout the implementation and transition process.

“Quill has a long and strong heritage serving the legal sector. Having worked at PTUK for 35 years, I’m delighted to join Quill’s board of directors and continue doing what I love – developing smart tech solutions especially for law professionals and devising the strategic direction of the business in line with evolving marketplace demands,” says Alan Farley, current Business Analyst at Quill and former Managing Director of PTUK.

Quill’s integrated legal accounts, case and document management system is used by over 750 practices and is designed to manage accounts, cases and documents from one simple source of truth with cloud delivery for hybrid-working flexibility.

“Previous PTUK clients can be reassured by two things,” continues Farley. “One, access to a broader suite of best-in-breed solutions featuring not just software but outsourcing services too. Quill’s uniquely positioned as a provider of both. Two, support by a genuinely caring team of people who place client care at the forefront of everything, comprising familiar faces – myself included – and new.”

Julian Bryan, Quill’s Managing Director, adds:

“The combination of Quill and PTUK resources and expertise achieved by the acquisition enables us to offer clients a superior product range and enhanced support package to do what they do best – legal service delivery – while we do the rest – look after their tech, and cashiering, payroll and typing functions.

“As PTUK is now part of the Quill group, there’s the added benefit of the investment, structure and stability which being part of a larger company brings. For clients, whether originally PTUK’s or Quill’s, this means continued innovation and development of our entire portfolio which they can utilise to accelerate productivity, run their practice smarter and conduct the business of law to their utmost ability.”
