SC@MS is now part of Quill
01/09/16The Manchester-headquartered company behind the self-named legal software and outsourced cashiering service brands Quill and Pinpoint has acquired rival software firm Solicitors Case Management Systems (SC@MS) as part of a series of planned deals underpinning its ambitious growth plans.
Users of the SC@MS practice management system can now choose to upgrade to Quill’s cloud-based software platform containing all-encompassing functionality for front- and back-office teams to optimally manage cases, contacts, bills, emails, documents and tasks, with full support given throughout the data migration, software roll-out and end user training processes.
Quill’s all-in-one legal accounts, case, document and practice management system is used by over 750 practices and some 8000 individuals, and is designed to empower law firms to operate smarter, comply with regulations, become paperless and work flexibly – in a completely remote or hybrid set up.
The takeover is welcome news for the SC@MS client base seeking cutting-edge solutions to better complement their daily working routines. Not only can they access the Quill software with its many boosts to accelerate productivity, there’s the wider availability of outsourcing services in the form of cashiering, typing, payroll and post room for a totally virtual administration structure.
Julian Bryan, Quill’s Managing Director, explains: “At Quill, we’re expanding our business both organically and acquisitively. With SC@MS, we have cross-company synergies – absolute client focus – and share the same strategic vision for the future – innovation and market leadership. Our combined resources – both solutions and personnel – enable us to achieve the next level of growth while better servicing the legal sector, an aim at the core of our ‘accountable to you’ ethos and strapline.
“The amalgamation of our two businesses effectively means we can offer SC@MS clients a superior product range comprising software and outsourced services, backed by an enhanced care package, with the assurance of ongoing technology developments according to evolving industry requirements. All of this is delivered by a financially stable, privately owned company which is the best future-proofing promise you can get.”
